Nitrogen Sports Review
Nitrogen Sports is one of a new wave of Bitcoin bookmakers. This allows them to target whichever regions they care to globally. It’s located in Costa Rica and was established in 2012 and has done well to make some noise in its short life to date.
Its main rival in the bitcoin bookmaker field is Sportsbet.io and these two are probably the two best and most comprehensive out there so far. Undoubtedly this space will see more competition emerge as bitcoin garners more and more legitimacy and mainstream acceptance. Nitrogen gives a thorough explanation of what bitcoin is and the story behind it; it explains its existence, the point of it and its growth. The site is a modern and sleek design which should help to put most doubters’ minds at ease.
Nitrogen Sports’ social media channels are linked on the top left of the homepage; it has a presence on Twitter, Facebook and, oddly, its own sub-Reddit. The sub-reddit includes discussion from customers but, unsurprisingly, this is mostly people complaining and doesn’t reflect well for the brand so it might not exist for too much longer. Its Twitter has close to 4,000 followers, it gives some links to betting promotions but is mostly just posts to ensure awareness of the markets it’s offering at any one time.
The Nitrogen Sports Facebook page enjoys over 4,000 Likes. There is a Nitrogen blog too.
Nitrogen Sports has for its customers something for everyone; it offers Sportsbook, Casino and Poker options.
The superbly displayed sportsbook markets include a variety of options for punters who are bitcoin savvy. They are as follows: Aussie Rules, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Esports, Golf, Handball, Ice Hockey, MMA, Motor Sport, Netball, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Racing, Snooker, Tennis and Volleyball.
Nitrogen Sports offers some Specials markets too which vary from politics to entertainment.
For a thoroughly modern bookmaker with an incredibly impressive site design and functionality, there was a lack of decent in-play options during our tests. It does at least offer in-play but this is something it needs to look at improving and expanding sooner rather than later; live betting is getting more and more popular now and if a bookmaker doesn’t have a strong selection punters will look elsewhere.
Usability of the site
The Nitrogen Sports site looks smart and feels smart. It’s easy to navigate and find the market you’re after.
The chat is particularly innovative and handy as it’s less of an annoying interference than most and instead blends into your experience meaning you can continue to access the site whilst still chatting to a member of the support team. Other forms of help offered by the bitcoin bookie is email. There is no phone support.
One stumbling block for a bitcoin bookmaker is the obvious; there are no other forms of deposit or withdrawal accepted, it’s bitcoin or the highway but that’s its angle and so cannot be seen as a criticism.
As mentioned previously it does a good job of reassuring customers who may be skeptical about gambling with a decentralised and anonymous virtual currency; it looks the part and has an extensive guide as to what bitcoin is and how it works and operates. Its tagline if the ‘future of sports betting’, its logo is snazzy and the site is extremely responsive and mobile friendly too.
The personalisable settings is a great feature, and particularly commendable that you can simply and easily impose limits on certain games for either a time period or full stop from one part of the product such as Blackjack.
As a new era bookmaker Nitrogen Sports has a tough job of taking on the established bookmakers but it holds itself up to them well, and indeed betters them in a number of ways when it comes to design and functionality.
If this truly is ‘the future of sports betting’ then it’s a future we’re looking forward to embracing.
